Owing to the joint vocational training program of the Gál Ferenc University in Szeged and KÉSZ Group, total 105 students were given an opportunity during the last 3 years to learn shortage professions in construction industry, such as HVAC technician, welder, electrician, building and structure locksmith, cooling and ventilation system fitter, water and drainage system fitter, central heating and gas system fitter and structural constructor and fitter. The enrolment period is now in progress and the prospective students and adults are awaited. This year 12 students of the first class will finish and they are offered long-term professional support and career opportunities by organizers of the training.

The first class of the vocational training program launched by the member institution of Gál Ferenc University in Szeged and KÉSZ Group, one of the dominant domestic operators of construction industry, will complete its studies this year. Training was started in the framework of the cooperation three years ago in Szeged and the applicants can learn construction professions in shortage in Hungary, such as HVAC technician, welder, electrician, building and structure locksmith, cooling and ventilation system fitter, water and drainage system fitter, central heating and gas system fitter and structural constructor and fitter.

The free practice-oriented professional training may be applied for both by students after completing the elementary school and adults. In the course of training students can obtain real professional knowledge because they may participate in various projects already during their studies. Students may learn the profession of their choice under the professional supervision of KÉSZ Group, in a most modern environment and with the support of professionals. The participants in the training may be given jobs in the Group's plants in Szeged, its steel structure factory in Kecskemét or in projects implemented across the country.

“Professional support of younger generations was always important for KÉSZ Group, so we continuously searched for the connection points and opportunities with educational institutions. Currently there are numerous shortage professions in the construction industry and our training program launched three years ago in cooperation with Gál Ferenc University assists in succession training in these fields, too. We are proud that the program is really practice-oriented and in its end young specialists with real knowledge can enter the labor market” – said Tamás Vida, CEO of KÉSZ Group.

Gyula Bíró, the training development director of Gál Ferenc University added that the first finishing class of the vocational training program completes training with 12 students, i.e. in an unchanged headcount compared to the start. “It means in any case an outstanding success since it rarely occurs that a class completes training in the framework of vocational training without attrition. Moreover, the training program may contribute to reduction of labor shortage in the construction industry and the students may become acquainted also with the sector's employers.”

Gyula Bíró emphasized that the cooperation of GFU and KÉSZ Group is a unique program in domestic vocational training that works only in Szeged. It strengthens the maintainer's model in which the market sector is present in the maintenance of the institution as an operator while the university provides not only the administration and business profile but also the mentality represented by Gál Ferenc University as a mission in the system of the vocational training institution maintained by it in Békés, in the headquarters institution and in its member institutions in Szeged and Budapest.
