Soltanli cornerstone laid - Another international opportunity for KÉSZ Group

KÉSZ Group has participated in rebuilding Soltanli, a settlement in Azerbaijan. Rebuilding Soltanli – situated in Nagorno-Karabakh which has been recaptured after 30 years in autumn 2023 – will allow around 5-6 thousand people to return home, announced Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó at the on-site cornerstone laying ceremony. KÉSZ Holding Zrt.’s Head of International Operations, Ottó Izsó also gave a speech at the celebration.

The event was also attended by Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev and Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Cabrayil, Qubadlı and Zangilan districts Vahid Hajiyev.

As one of the leading construction companies in Hungary, KÉSZ has always been especially proud of its international projects,” highlighted KÉSZ Holding Zrt.’s Head of International Operations, Ottó Izsó in his speech.

The main items of the urban development plan drafted under the aegis of bim.GROUP and in cooperation with the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan were also presented at the ceremony. According to the plans, Soltanli will be rebuilt focusing on modern urban planning concepts, enabling residents to live, work and develop their economy in a safe and modern environment.

“KÉSZ Group believes it is of the utmost importance to combine the Hungarian and Azeri architectural elements in harmony, by creating a single building complex, during the design and construction of the school building donated by Hungary. The level of collaboration between KÉSZ Group, together with its strategic partner bim.GROUP Kft., and the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan was exemplary.”

In his speech, Ottó Izsó also underlined the importance of KÉSZ Group’s international projects: “In the group’s 40-year history, our international presence was always a strategic priority for our founders. Our group has delivered more than 3,000 projects to date in 30 countries of the world.”

Azeri Minister of Labour Sahil Babayev thanked Hungary and KÉSZ Group for their participation and stressed that returning residents will be greeted by better living circumstances following the rebuilding process. In his speech, he also praised the Azeri-Hungarian collaboration, emphasising the strategic partnership established by the leaders of the two countries.

He elaborated on how the bilateral cooperation will reach a new dimension due to the Nagorno-Karabakh project and how relationships in all other areas will also evolve, for example at economic, trade, cultural and social levels.
