A new era in shopping in Nógrád: Stop Shop to be built in Salgótarján
Salgótarján will soon be the home of a new shopping park: CPI Hungary, a major operator in the domestic real estate market, is expanding the internationally well-known Stop Shop chain with a modern complex in the heart of the city, next to Lidl. The first phase will offer shoppers 12 retail units, 361 parking spaces, 82 bicycle storage spaces, and a playground.
In recent years, there have been several discussions about the arrival of Stop Shop in Salgótarján, but now the project is finally getting underway. The shopping center will be a 7,566-square-meter building that will house 12 stores. KÉSZ Építő és Szerelő Zrt. won the contract for the construction. The L-shaped building, covering more than 7,500 square meters, will be easily accessible from both the Rákóczi út roundabout and Csokonai út. According to the plans, several clothing, shoe, and electronics stores, as well as a drugstore and a shop offering household accessories, will open their doors.
"With the opening of the new Stop Shop, we want to contribute to further expanding the shopping opportunities available to the people of Nógrád. Our goal is to offer quality brands, a wide selection, and easy accessibility to the residents of the city and the region," said Mátyás Gereben, country manager of CPI Hungary.
The Stop Shop shopping center network operates more than 130 units in ten countries in Central and Eastern Europe. In Hungary, CPI Hungary's portfolio includes 14 Stop Shops, with a total of 170,000 square meters of leasable retail space and 320 tenants. Salgótarján will soon join this internationally successful network.
