KÉSZ Group rewarded young handball players who excel in both sports and academics during the break of the OTP Bank-PICK Szeged NB I championship match. During the event, 12 junior players received the "Good Student, Good Athlete" award, which the company traditionally uses to support persistent, dedicated, and exemplary young people.

Sports support and recognition of talent

The coaching evaluation committee decided on the recipients of the "Good Student, Good Athlete" award based on their school results, performance in training sessions and matches, and results achieved in tournaments. The award winners set an example for their peers, showing that outstanding performance does not require choosing between studying and sports. A previous winner, Benjámin Szilágyi, made it from the youth team to the adult team and is now a regular player for OTP Bank-PICK Szeged – so the support is not just a gesture, but also a long-term success story.

KÉSZ Group is an active supporter of several sports: in addition to handball, it is the title sponsor of KÉSZ Group Balatonfondó, one of Hungary's largest cycling events, and also supports the St. Mihály FC women's football team in Szeged, which won the second division in 2022 and has been playing in the top flight ever since. KÉSZ Group has ties to Szeged and is involved in community building.

Connection to Szeged and community building

KÉSZ Group is not only present in Szeged through its support for sports: the company also strengthens the city's community and cultural life with several important developments and initiatives. One outstanding investment is the renovation of Oroszlán Street and its surroundings, where sustainability has been given a central role alongside the preservation of historic buildings. In addition, the development of TILIA Office Building and the related sculpture competition serve to enrich the city's cultural life, while Edupark, Szeged's training center, supports the professional development of local young people and employees.

"These investments are just as important components of KÉSZ Group's city-building and community-building activities as supporting sports. Szeged is not just a city where we are present, but a community to whose present and future we contribute with knowledge, art, training, and sports," said Károly Benedikt, KÉSZ Group's Director of Marketing and Communications.
