M3 metró

How Metro M3 was renovated

After many years of work, the M3 metro line is back on the full track in Budapest. KÉSZ Group also took part in the works: our staff contributed to the renewal of 9 stations as engineers, manufacturers and contractors of the sheet metal cladding of the stations.

In the first 3 stations of the metro renovation (which lasted more than five years), the Semmelweis Klinikák, Corvin-negyed, and Kálvin tér stops, KÉSZ Metaltech Kft. manufactured and installed the coverings that gave new life to the spaces, which were a great engineering challenge due to the special requirements and conditions. We installed more than 3,000 m2 of rarely seen canopy structures and more than 1,800 m2 of cable cladding.

The platforms, passenger areas, ramps and underpasses of the stations were clad with special metallic cladding made specifically for the M3 metro. We also used a number of previously unused solutions: for the first time in the country, the wall cladding was coated with an anti-graffiti layer, and the Klinikák and Kálvin tér stations were equipped with unique suspended ceiling solutions, unique to these locations.

For the next phase of the middle section of the renovation, the sheet metal cladding and its supporting structures were designed by bim.GROUP Kft., while their manufacturing and installation was carried out by KÉSZ Metaltech Kft. As a result, the Nyugati pályaudvar, Arany János utca, Deák Ferenc tér and Ferenciek tere stations also bear the mark of the expertise and care of our colleagues

In the final stage, i.e. the renovation of the Nagyvárad tér and Lehel tér stops, we were again responsible for the design, manufacturing and installation of the internal sheet metal cladding, suspended ceilings and cable cladding.

We are proud that our member companies and strategic partners also participated in this great project, which has involved the installation of more than 36,000 m2 of metal cladding in the stations.

Congratulations to the colleagues of KÉSZ Metaltech Kft., bim.GROUP Kft. and Baumetall Design Kft. for another successful joint project.
